During November 3rd grade has been having lots of fun playing games and learning new songs! We learned a song to the nursery rhyme Jack Be Nimble and we played xylophones with the song. We finished our military branch songs and sang for Veterans during our Veteran's Day assembly. Finally, we've been playing a singing game called We are Dancing that has a fun chase game! This song helped us review solfege notes sol, mi and la. We also added xylophones to this song!
This month in music class, we are learning the songs for the different branches of the military to sing at our Veteran's Day assembly! We are learning how to read half notes, half rests, and playing a simple drone on the barred instruments. We are also learning about composer, Camille Saint-Saens.
During August and September, 3rd grade has been playing fun name games and songs, learning the procedures for the music room, the school song and playing classroom instruments such as triangles, guiros, finger cymbals, and egg shakers! We have also been reviewing 2nd grade rhythms and solfege. We've also been learning about our composer of the month, Clara Schumann.
